Ducato: XXXXX XXXXX a 1997 motorhome with a 2.8 non-turbo Fiat ducato

Customer Question

I have a 1997 motorhome with a 2.8 non-turbo Fiat ducato diesel engine - only 18500 miles. It will start and tick over (bit erratically) but will not accelerate. I've replaced the fuel filter - no diffent. It uses a Bosch pump. I've looked online and there seem to be two points I cant fathom. 1. Does it have a lift pump - I'm told no as the Bosch does that job. 2. Does it have a hand fuel primer? If I can find these two things I could try some more ideas. I have been told it sounds as if the pump is gummed-up with crap. Any ideas??

Hi

I guess you are in the USA. As this is a European engine, I would prefer a specific reply from someone with direct experience of this engine. Sorry guys, but if this is an American site, then I will request my money back.
