hi.

we are sorry that this question has not been answered as yet .

my name is XXXXX XXXXX i will help you with this problem.

the key will operate an actuation rod on the lock mechanism but the release button works on a solenoid two separate things .

what you need to do is to remove the plastic trim behind lock and you will see the the rods one of them will have become detached at the lock end or at the latch end you may need to replace the plastic clip that retains the rod in place.
