2008, peaugot 308 , 1.6 vti , dignostic checked sent u a code , total milliage 77,000 milliage, display showing antipolloution systum fault

hi this code refers to the of variable valve timing wich is used to alter camshaft position.

the signal from the control unit to the timing actuator is within normal operating range

but when the actuator is given a specific control signal, the control unit has detected an incorrect response within the system (over advanced valve timing) the fault could be detected due to the relationship of the signals from the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors.

check operation of variable valve timing actuator.

check oil pressure.

check signals from cam and crank sensors.
