Im afraid the transmission you have been supplied is one for an older vehicle - you may not be able to use that one Im afraid -

The drive for the speedo is totally different - I dont just mean the obvious fact as you have mentioned - re the electronic / cable drive - but the drive in the gearbox may well be different - meaning you cant fit the VSS ( speed sensor ) physically to that transmission...

Try it - offer it up and see if it will - but if not, you cannot use that transmission for sure -

The other issue is the position of the gearstick - Check the linkage / adjustment - but I think you will find that the transmission is just not compatable Im afraid ...

So check as above - let me know if I can help you anymore - but I do think this could be bad news from what you have said... Obviously I dont know exactly what transmission you have fitted / had fitted - but its too old / wrong for your model I think you will find - definately if you cannot physically fit the vss as above and properly align the gearstick - -
