the engine ( TD6 2.7 ) was replaced at 46000 miles, should the water pump and connecting hoses also be renewed at the same time

Hello and Welcome back to justanswer...There is no official / LR recommendation to replace them - especially the hoses - but to be honest - it would have made sense to change the pump for what it costs in itself...I dont know whether the engine was replaced as a new unit - Im thinking it probably was given its age - so I would double check with them - whether they transfered the pump from the old engine or did indeed fit a new one.But again - if they didnt fit new , its not really a worry , it would have been sensible - but the pumps on these can outlast the engine - as indeed can the hoses...I hope that helps you but let me know if you need anything more - Im very pleased to have helped you - Let me know if I can help anymore...
