Hi.

Yes the two marks are the low and max markings ,

If the level is under the low then the steering will make a noise.
top up and recheck steering .

If level is ok then first do a fluid flush and change most times this will help
with the noisy steering .

Need further assistance then please get back to me.

Kind regards Greg

Thanks Greg but do I check the fluid level with the engine running or after it is hot or after moving the steering wheel from left to right once or several times??

Hi.

Engine OFF steering straight. and level should be between the max and min marks
on the little dipstick .
If low top off with jags approved power steering fluid.
