Ihave a trooper duty 3.0 DOHC it was going well until it had a fuel leak which was repaired badly and we think air has got into the system. It will start and you can rev it once then it will die it has a lot of white smoke coming from the exhuast. really desrerate now as need it for towing, the local garage says could be up to £1000 as its the fuel injectors! The year of the truck is 2000. yvonne

I'm Billy and i will assist you with this.
Since you have repaired the leak, replaced the fuel filter and bled the system correctly.......then the problem would be caused by either the injectors or the pump itself.
As the excessive white smoke on start up, would be caused by an excessively rich mixture (too much fuel getting into the engine).
And that would be caused, by either faulty injector(s) or pump.
As you may have faulty injector(s), remember, that not all of them have to be faulty....
It may be that one or two injectors are causing the problem, and the rest are good....
So once, the injectors removed, you need to check which one is leaking and replace accordingly.....
