The regeneration process can be actuated by the workshop with Star Diagnosis computer. But if the filter can be regenerated, it will never cause the engine to stall.

Only possiblity is that internals of the filter are loose and plugged up the exhaust so the engine cannot breathe at all.

Even with this fault, the engine will start and drive fine, only the power output will be redused maximum by half. So it is either a completely disintegrated diesel particulate filter(DPF), or another problem with injection. I suggest to remove the DPF completely just in case. If the car does not start- injection system must be checked, starting with low-pressure lines and fuel filter. Return flow of the injectors should be checked as well as other high-pressure system components.

i reckon the filter is blocked because there is also another fault saying particle filter uneven pressure, if i remove the dpf tomorrow & this is the problem will the vehicle start,to be honest the car has just been shunting around the city for the last year never further than a mile or two in any one trip,is it possible to clean the dpf of the soot build up or even take it out altogether
