Vauxhall astra diesel, engine management light..cooling system

This answer was rated:

vauxhall astra diesel, engine management light-on also with a cooling system symbol.was told it was the cooling ecu....not?
Welcome to Just Answer, First this must either be a 1.7 or 2.0 diesel as Vauxhall don't do a 1.8td.

The Astra "G" does have both an engine and coolant ECU , the coolant ECU's main job is to control the cooling and air conditioning fans and the engine is for engine management, both of these control units "talk" to each other and share common sensors such as RPM and temperature sensors.

Both of these ECU's have in built diagnosis that needs to be accessed with a diagnostic computer, you will need to get both of these systems tested separately,. and then the repair route will be shown.

I hope this helps, if you need more information post back, regards, Vauxdoc.
