We had a court hearing yesterday in London - HMRC had petitioned

This answer was rated:

We had a court hearing yesterday in London - HMRC had petitioned for our bankruptcy. We weren't opposing the petition. I am assuming that the bankruptcy was granted but I would like to check. I've checked the Insolvency Register but there is nothing on there. Does it take a while to appear?
Thanks for your question. Please remember to rate my answer SMILEY FACE OR ABOVE so that I am credited for my time.

Yes the Register does take a while to get updated.

This is because the Court needs to actually draw up the order - this can take around 1-2 weeks.

Then the Court need to send it to the Official Receiver.

They then need to process it and place it on their systems.

This can take some more time.

As such it may not necessarily show straight away.

Therefore you could call the Court that the petition was heard at and ask.

I hope this helps.
