Customer Question

Thank you. I have a model(###) ###-####dishwasher. Woke up this morning to a beeping sound and error code 01. Dishwasher has not been used for a couple of days. ?????
JA: What confuses you?
Customer: I don't understand your response. What do I do about the above problem?
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your dishwasher? And have you run a diagnostic test cycle?
Customer: Electrolux EWDW6505650. Have not done a diagnostic test cycle. Don't know what that is.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes, if it's just a reset.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: No.

Turn breaker off for 5 minutes to reset the electronic control. Does the behavior change at all?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I pulled the power cord for a few minutes. No change.

Is the control responsive at all to button pushing?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
All that comes up is error 01.

You have a water leak in the base of the machine, under the wash tub. Are you able to perform disassembly to inspect and correct this issue?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No.
Expert:  Kelly replied 6 months ago.

Okay, you will need to call for service in that case. Would you like a servicer referral? If so, may I have your zip code, please?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Is it possible it could be a bad code. I think there was a slight power surge last night.

Sure, but the power cycle should have reset it. Let's see if it will go into a diagnostic cycle. I doubt it will but we can try.

I only get the error code. Nothing else.
Expert:  Kelly replied 6 months ago.

Okay, so the flood sensor has been activated or the control is faulty. Either scenario will require extensive disassembly. You will need to call for service.

Am I still charged without resolving my issue? I knew what the code was from my service manual.
