Hi

Can you post the model number please.

What actually happens when you try and start the washer?

Will the door lock?

Does it make any noises?

Regards

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
there is a quiet click as it tries to start the cycle then nothing. When cycling through the cycles (when pressed the 2 buttons for 4 secs to get error code) the hotter cycles start up as normal but when you get to the 40 wash it doesnt make wash noises- then cycling through e69 comes up
the hotter washes dont work when i try them normally though.zwd1627ow1

door shuts fine

Ok E69 is a wash heater fault on this. But to be honest that wont stop the washer from starting. It will only cause it not to get hot during the cycle or causes it to was for too long.

Try this and see what happens and let me know.

Turn the dial to off.

Press and hold the start button and the button to the left of it and keep them both held in.

With them held in turn the dial 1 click clockwise.

When the lights start to flash then let go of the buttons.

Now turn the dial 1 click clockwise all the way round to off.

Then turn it back on then turn off again.

Now retry the washer on a wash cycle and see what happens from there and let me know.

thats what i have already done (as i described above) but it doesnt work- will try one more time

Sorry I cannot see where you put down that you tried the above. I can only see were you said you got the error code.

So what happened as you turned the dial when you entered test mode?

Did the washer start to fill at each stage as you turned the dial around?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
did it and when on the 40 wash it started (but screen said ELE) after a few secs it stopped and said e69 and is beeping!
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
sorry- i prob didnt make much sense!

before it filled at each stage (hotter washes) until i got to 40 deg wash

When the screen showed ELE its still in test mode so that's why you needed to turn on the off again as this exits test mode.

Ok so if during the test mode it kept coming up E69 you need to check the heater element.

Remove the back panel on the washer and you will see the heater in the bottom of the drum.

Check the wires are still on there.

If they are then you need a multi meter and test the resistance of the heater. It should be around 28 Ohms. If faulty the you need to replace the heater from there.

Check that and see what you find. As it keeps showing the E69 then its more then likely a fault heater element here.

checked the wires all fine..havent got the other bits. Dont thnk it is the heater though as that was working fine - it was a draining problem that was he issue originally. Husband just tried to check the black hose underneath again and removed the ball and got 2 more coins out. The machine is now working on a 40 eco wash...the 40 quick wash didnt seem to work...will have to see if it stops again

Ok see how it goes but if you have got the E69 error code then the electronics is picking up a fault on the heater circuit otherwise it wont have thrown that code up. As the E69 code has nothing to with the draining cycle.

Also when a heater fails you get no warning as it will work ok one wash and not the next as that's how they fail.

But if it keeps stopping then you need to get a test meter and check that heater as for the E69 to come up its nearly always a faulty heater that causes this.

the code hasn't come up again- is washing fine on all cycles but failed once with an e20 error on a 40 quick wash... then randomly drained and workd fine again!? Am assuming if it was a heater issue then it would stop working again or the code would come up again?
Expert:  Daniel T. replied 1 year ago.

Theres only a few codes that comes up in normal running mode and that's E10,E20 and E40. For all the other codes you have to go into test mode to get them codes up.

But they are stored codes so it could have been fro a while ago. To check the heater just set it to a hot wash and see if the washer gets hot during the wash then you will know if the heater is still working. As if the heater is faulty then it will still complete the cycle but will do so in cold water only.

And as to the E20 code if this still comes up now and then and there isn't a blockage in there then the drain pump is the fault as a pump can play up lie this were it works fine 1 minute but packs in the next. So in this case the pump will need to be replaced if it keeps coming up E20 and theres no blockage in there.
