AEG oven: mod B 60 L, PRODUCT ####-##-####

it warms up a bit but not enough to cook. Also, it makes a noise while the door is closed but the noise stops once you open the oven.

Hi

Ok if the oven gets hot a bit but the fan inside isn't running then that's the fault here. As in a fan oven it needs the fan to run to circulate the air around otherwise if it doesn't then the heater will get hot but wont be able to heat the oven fully as its only a small element at the back around the fan so it needs the fan to work for the oven to heat up fully.

What you need to do is empty the oven and remove the back panel.

There you will see the heater and the fan. Turn the fan blade by hand and if its stiff to turn then its faulty and the fan motor will need to be replaced here.

But also check the heater as sometimes the heater can misshape and this stops the fan from turning as it catches it. If it has misshaped then it will more then likely need to be replaced here.

So check the fan and see what you find as if the fan isn't running then that will be why it isn't heating fully there.

What if the fan is not stiff & the heating element is not misshaped

Then you need to access the back of the oven and test the motor itself with a multi meter and see if its faulty there.

But to be honest most of the time the fan jams up as grease builds up on the fan and motor shaft and causes it to go stiff as the fan blade should be very free to spin round so if its stiff which most of the time it is then its the fan.
