Ok so the key sign is lit up is this correct?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
its beeping every 20 seconds or so -just one beep
Expert:  Daniel T. replied 1 year ago.
Ok im taking it you have pressed and hold the button of the key for s few seconds to see if it turns off?
Also do you get any F codes flashing up?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I've done that. No codes flashing up.
Expert:  Daniel T. replied 1 year ago.
Ok not sure if you have tried this already but turn the power off to the hob and leave it 30 mins as this can allow the electronics to reboot in there.
Then turn on and see what happens from there.
As i dont think its a case of just disabling the lock as you have tried this all ready and its not worked so the control unit isnt responding when you are pressing the button.
So just try the above first and leave it off for 30 mins and see what happens from there and let me know.

If that does work, is there any way to permanently disable the lock
Expert:  Daniel T. replied 1 year ago.
You cannot permanently disable the lock im afraid as its programmed into the board so you cannot alter the programming of the control boards im afraid.
All you can do is just turn it off by holding the key sign for a few seconds.

Hi Daniel, it hasn't worked - any other ideas?
Expert:  Daniel T. replied 1 year ago.
Ok if that hasnt worked and theres just nothing you can do on there then its going to be a faulty control unit in there.
Thats the only part in there that will cause this fault and stop the lock from turning off. In this case the hob will need to be removed and the glass top taken off and from there you can access the control board from there.
But given the price of control units on hobs its not usually worth fixing as you can get a new hob usually cheaper then spares for them now a days.
