Hi: i have an electrical socket in a grey plastic box by my front door. I want to plug outdoor fairy lights into it but all the transformers say 'must be plugged in indoors. Can Iuse this socket?

Thanks

Ruth
the reason this says must be plugged in "indoors" is because the transformer is not water or moisture proof. it could short out and even cause a fire if used with an outside socket. hope this helps, thanks , Bryan

Thanks. What do i need to ask for to get a waterproof transformer?

just ask at an electrical company what you need for that.I'm not sure what they call it though.
