I have a Bosch Exxcel 1400 Express washing machine. I am no longer able to put fabric conditioner in the tray as it doesn't feed into the wash anymore. I have been just using washing powder in the short term but even then the conditioner tray has water in it at the end of the wash.I would also like advice on how best to clean the rubber seal which fits around the inside of the machine. We've had this machine for about 7 years and I just feel it needs a good 'service' - does Bosch offer this kind of service? Thanks
Hi
If its leaving the softner in the drawer then its more then likely a blocked water chamber in the dispenser roof.
Remove the soap box and then look inside the dispenser box at the roof.
Above the section for the softner you will see a few holes.
Get some garden tying wire or strimmer wire and poke it into the holes and push it down the back of the dispenser roof.
This should clean out the water chamber in the roof and hopefully the water will now be able to flow into the softner section on the rinse.
But if this doesnt cure it then the dispenser roof will need to be replaced.
But nearly always poking something into the roof will clear it out.
Also remove the soap drawer and give it a good clean out and make sure the softnmer section is clear aswell. Test it under a tap and fill it up and make sure the water syphons out when you turn the tap off.
As to the door seal if the marks are already on then you wont clear them proberly.
What you can try is running quite a few service washes. Set it going on a 90 deg wash with nothing in and let it run.
You will need to do this quite a few times a week and it will clear the muck inbetween the drum and some off the seal.
But it wont fully clear the seal. This will need to be replaced if you want it all gone.
Now bosch will come out and sort this for you and replace the seal but they charge quite a bit more then a local repair company who will do the same job. So have a look in the yellow pages for a local enginner and see if they can help you.
But buy doing all the above will clear softner problem and the muck in the drum and the loose bits on the seal aswell.
If you need anymore info just get back to me.

Hi there, thank you for this response. When you say service wash at 90 degrees, which setting would you use? Cotton? Thanks
HiSet it to a cotton 90 deg wash this is the best cycle to do it on. Don't put clothes in but just add a small amount of soap powder this should sort it out. Regards
