hi,I recently removed the top door from my zanussi zkc6020w oven and am having difficulty replacing it.I cannot get the two hinge ends far enough into the slots to get the notches in them to sit at the bottom of the slots. It appears two metal bars inside the slots are blocking them. Do I need to get a posidrive screwdriver to take the front fascia of the oven off?
Already Tried: slotting the hinge ends into the slots in order to pull down the brackets and lock them in place
Hiya,
Sorry, not too clear in your post.
Are the hinges in the open position and locked open?
Thanks
I have tried them in the closed position and the semi-open position (although they often snap back to closed if I don't put something between them and the door to stop them)
Use a large pair of pliers and fully open the hinge.
At the hinge joint, there should be a U shaped piece that can be flipped over with a screwdriver.
Flip it over.
Do this for both hinges and they will stay open.
Fit them back into the slots.
Fully open the door and flip the U shaped parts back.
If you don't have the U shaped parts, fully open the hinge and take a picture of it in the open position (side on).
Then, post the photograph here.
That worked, thanks so much mate
Thanks for coming back and letting me know how it went.
Glad you got it sorted out.
Hope this helped
