Hiya,

Take the drawers in the fridge out.

Is there ice at the bottom rear of the fridge?

Is there ice in the vents?

Is the fan in the fridge running? (you should hear it stopping as you open the door).

Has the fan in the fridge been noisy?

How old is the appliance?

Thanks

There is no ice at the bottom of the fridge.or in the vents.the fridge is not noisy it's aprox 3 years old I can hear a motor running not sure if that's the fan just sounds normal

Hiya,

OK, thanks for that.

If there's no ice, there's been no noise and the fan is definitely running (you need to make sure) then it's going to be a system blockage.

This wouldn't be a diy repair.

I would suggest checking again for the fan and taking off the panel behind the drawers.

See if it is iced up in there.

thanks

I've cleaned all the vents none are blocked but there is a panel that runs down the back of the inside that houses the lights this is hot to touch this I think is the problem as the bottom half of the fridge is cool where there are no lights

Hiya,

As per my previous post.

Take the panel behind the drawers off to see if there's any ice there.

The panel with the light in it, is not the panel I refer to.

Thanks

Hiya,

OK, thanks for that.

The ice build up is the cause of the problem.

I'm assuming the door hasn't been left open. If it was, you need to do a full defrost on the appliance.

At least 24 hours unplugged with the doors open, and the machine in a warm room.

What you've described would suggest that your machine is suffering from an iced up evaporator and fan in the fridge compartment.

If the door wasn't left open then this is a known fault on the Samsung side by side appliances.

It was so bad that they extended the warranty on them to 5 years for this cooling fault in the fridge only.

Give them a call.

Tell them of the cooling problems.

Tell them of the ice at the bottom rear area.

Tell them about the fan in the fridge not running. (I really don't think it's running).

They will likely tell you to defrost the appliance first and then see if the fault comes back.

If it does come back, they should come and fit a some new parts and should be from the following, a new defrost sensor, thermal fuse and modified evaporator cover.

The repair should be free of charge.

The modified cover brings heat to the fan area so that it defrosts when the evaporator defrost occurs.

Give them a call, see how it goes.

The phone number I have for Samsung is .03307267864

Hope this helps

Let me know how it goes or if you need more help

Thanks
