i have a whirlpool integrated fridge model arg 581/2 and am trying to replace the top door hinge. how do i get at screws on the door and how do i release the door from the housing.i have tried allen keys on the housing but they don't seem to fit

Hiya,
Sorry for the delay in getting to your question.

You need to remove the decor door first.

Open the door and pull the seal sideways a little.
You'll see holes there.
In 4 of the holes are screw heads, use a screwdriver to turn the screw clockwise to slacken the fixings for the decor door.

Then, take the decor door off.
You can now access the hinges and screws.

Refitting is the reverse of the strip down.

thanks for that but i also need to know how to remove the hinge from the main fridge.there are 2 unusual screw types holding the hinge which don't seem to fit either allan keys or a screwdriver

Hiya,

sorry for the delay, been at work all day.

 

The screws are torx screws.

You can get torx drivers or bits from the likes of B&Q, Halfords or even Poundland

 

Once you have these, you'll be able to take the screws out.

I find the bits, used with a socket and ratchet are best.
