Customer Question

On my American style Samsung fridge freezer the fridge temperature will not come down below 8degrees. Is there anything I can try. I do not have a manual?

Hi

Theres a good chance this is a blocked evaporator inside the fridge so it jams the fan up and this will cause the temperature to rise inside the fridge.

What you can try is empty the bottom of the fridge and you will see the vents on the back panel. Take these off and remove the screws in there. Remove the screws holding the water bottle on and remove the back panel.

From there defrost all the ice on the evaporator and on the back cover aswell. Make sure the fan in there is free.

Then once defrosted turn it back on and see how it goes from there. Hoefully this is a one off and the defrost will cure it. But if it does it again then there will be a fault in there on the defrost side. And usually on these samsungs its the defrost sensors which cause the problem so you can try and replace the sensor and see if this cure the problem here.

Thank you very much. I can see that there is a lot of ice behind the panel but I can remove it completely as the are wires there too. Can you please tell me what temperature a fridge should ideally be set on
