Customer Question

my hotpoint dishwasher BFI620 dispenses its washing tab irregularly. The spring seems ok - sometimes it works, sometimes the tab is still in the dispenser with the door open... any ideas?

Already Tried:
made sure the dishes don't crown near the dispenser. Made sure the dispenser is dry and not sticky. Pressed the release mechanism and it works ok

Hi

Does the dishwasher still work ok other then that?

Does it get hot?

Are the spary arms spinning round ok?

Regards

Customer replied 368 days and 12 hours ago.

yes. All functions seem normal. The machine is not dirty or clogged

Hi

Ok so the top spray arm is spinning during the wash?

Do you have any air freshner or anything like that hanging on the top basket on the same side as the dispenser unit.

Regards

Customer replied 368 days and 12 hours ago.

No. It's all set up to simply use the tab dispenser - we just seem to have an intermittent dispenser failure resulting in the tab being found in the dispenser (open), in the dispenser (not open), or the tab in the bottom of the dishwasher but not dissolved as if it's been dispensed very late in the cycle

Hi

Ok if its not actually opening some times then its possibley the dispenser itself thats the problem here. As theres a coil in there which moves a bar inside there. The coil will be fine otherwise the dispenser will never open. So its possible the bars in there are jamming not relising the door for it.

As if its getting hot and the spray arms are spinning then thats all it can be. Other then the control unit but its quite rare a control unit will cause this fault.
