Hi, I have a hotpoint side by side fridge, I need to change the water filter, do I need to turn off the water supply to the fridge or can I just change the filter without turning any water off at all.Thankyou.
Already Tried: I have changed the filter before but I had water coming out from under the fridge but it did stop when I put the filter in, I just want to be sure that I can do it that way or should I have turned the water off?

You shouldn't have to turn the water off but, if the valve sticks (which your one apparently is doing), then water will run back and out of the filter.
No mains water comes into the appliance until the valves are open for drinking water and/or water for the ice maker.
The water that comes out is simply the water in the tubing going from the filter to the drinking water spout.
