"Hi, I have a Zanussi Dryer ZDE14700. I tried to dry a sofa cover which I think was a bit heavy for the dryer and although it's still working, it's not heating up. Is this something I can fix on my own and if so how? Or do I need to get someone in?
Already Tried: Cleaned the filter, re-set to zero and waited a bit, tried both the synthetic and cotton settings.

Can you double check the model number please as its not comming up.
Hi, it's definitely ZDE 14700w Regards
Zanussi dont have that model listed at all im afraid.
But they do have a ZDE 47100W
Can you just double check that please.
Sorry it should be ZDE 47100.
Ok thats fine i can advise on the correct dryer now.
If you turn the dryer on to any cycle and set it going.
Then press and hold the start button and the button to the left.
Keep them held in and once the leds go out let go.
Now the start light will flash.
You need to count the number of red flashes.
Then the number of green flashes and let me know.
Actually it only bleeped again when I did it with the door open, when the dryer was working it flashed as above then carried on - sorry if I'm being confusing!
Sorry not sure what you mean by flashed as above?
When you did it did the lights go out?
Did the start light flash red?
I think one of my replies went missing! It flashed red 6 times and green twiceThank you for all your advice
Ok i never got that reply.
But anyway thats E62 errror code which is a heater element problem.
What you need to do is remove the buldge cover on the back and the top and take the heater out.
Check to see if the heater coils have burnt out. If they look ok then the other side of the heater are two thermostats. Now you will need a multimeter and test these. If any are faulty then the heater element will need to be replaced.
Check it out and see what you find but usually for an E62 error code its the heater element at fault here.
