Siemens extraklasse 1100 washing machine, softener not being delivered into the wash from e softener compartment, mostly full at the end of each wash and not obviously clogged, cleaned regularly. Please advise, thx
Hiya,
Is the compartment left full of water or conditioner?
Thanks
Yes it is full of water and conditioner after the wash
OK, it's extremely unusual to have both in the drawer at the end of the wash.
Open the drawer.
From a jug, pour water into the conditioner compartment until it's full, does it syphon out?
When you clean it, do you take the drawer out and take the conditioner compartment apart?
If not, do this and clean out both syphon tubes then try the machine again.
Let me know what happens.
Yes the water drains out and yes we take out the compartment and clean it completely. We still have the problem of not all the comditioner reaching the wash and then a mix of watery comditioner is leftt inthe compartment after the wash has finished. Pls advise. Thank you
OK, it sounds like the water isn't getting to the compartment.
The most common cause of this sort of problem is the water ways in the dispenser top have blocked up.
There are other causes but this is the most common by far.
Take the dispenser drawer out.
Then, give the holes in the dispenser ceiling a good scrub.
Use a length of thin garden tying wire (or strimmer wire), poke the wire into the holes above the conditioner compartment, getting it in and along the water ways as far as possible.
Once cleaned out, try the machine again.
If still the same, you'll need to take the dispenser top out and clean out the waterways in the sink.
To do this, -
Unplug the appliance.
Take the top off.
Take the screws holding the dispenser in place out.
Take the hoses attached to the dispenser top off.
Unclip the dispenser top.
Push the tub down as far as possible and pull the top out rearward.
(it does come out this way, we do it on a regular basis).
Clean the dispenser top under running water, ensure water gets through all of the holes.
Refit the top, reassemble the machine.
Try it again.
Check it out, see what you find and get back to me if you need more help.
Obviously, if you cannot do the work yourself, you'll need to have someone come in and do the work for you.
Hope this helps
