The most likely cause of the problem is the carbon brushes in the motor have worn out.
Unplug the appliance
Take the rear panel off.
Unplug the motor.
If you have, and can use, a multimeter, test the motor to see if it's open circuit and failed.
Take the bolts holding the motor to the tub off.
Take the motor off and out of the appliance.
Check the carbon brushes.
If worn out (most likely) or broken, fit new ones.
Refit the motor and reassemble the appliance.
Try the machine again.
If you are lucky, it will run again.
If you are unlucky it will have damaged the timer pcb.
Check it out, see what you find.
