Can you post the actual model number of the appliance please?
What happens when you try to use the machine?
You say it doesn't complete, but what actually happens?
It struggles to rotate properly, makes clicking noises,
requires manual stopping and then choosing to pump and spin, to avoid soaking wet clothes...
OK, thanks for that.
The first problem could be a loose or stretched belt or even a faulty motor.
The clicking noises? From where?
Taking ages, does the water get hot?
Does the machine sit washing all the time or does it go through the wash and into the rinses?
clicking from the drum, maybe?...
water temp is cold, but been using quick wash, low temps anyway.
it sits there attempting to wash, much longer than usual, until we stop the program and do a pump and spin
If you turn the drum manually, do you get the clicking noise?
Isolate the power and take the rear panel off.
Turn the pulley, is the clicking from the drum or the motor?
Do you have, and can you use, a multimeter?
its attempting a load right now,
haven't tried manually will do later
no multimeter I'm afraid
Let me know about the clicking.

Your deposit doesn't go away.
It's there until you use it.
Finish the wash, post when you've had a chance to look at the appliance.
There's no fixed time limit on it.
I got the back panel off, the drum does not click when turned manually or when using the pulley.
It sounded more like an electrically relay type clicking sound, now that I think about it...
OK, so that would be from the pcb and not the drum.
What exactly happens if you set it to spin?
Does it manage to spin?
You said it struggles to turn the drum
Can you explain this some more?
Run the machine with the rear and top off.
Listen and watch what is happening.
Let me know.
it completes the spin and pump cycle as per spec.
The drum fails to turn on wash cycles only.
when on a WASH cycle, a light flashes intermitantly. this is the 'no spin' light.
As for running the machine with the top and rear off, that is a job for qualified experts....not me, I'm afraid
Sorry, can't help you if you can't be my "eyes and ears".
You'll have to get an engineer in to see to your machine so he can see what's happening and diagnose.
I'll opt out of your question.
You haven't wasted my time.
You let me know early on that you weren't prepared to watch the appliance with the covers off.
