The ignition on my neff gas hob has suddenly stopped working.

Resolved Question:

The ignition on my neff gas hob has suddenly stopped working. It seems completely dead (ie no clicking noise) although each ring can be lit with a match. I would appreciate some advice as to what could be the problem.

There are a few things you can check.
Assuming of course you still have a power supply we need to check that the spark generator is still connected.
Check that all wires are securely connected to the generator.
Check that the ignition leads are connected to the spark electrode.

Att the base of each regulator is a microswitch. You can check that the switch can make and break by placing a multimeter across the terminals on each microswitch.

Let me know what you find.

regards Tony

Thank you for replying.I am now going to have to give my husband the information so that he can have a look at the hob over the weekend before we know whether or not it has been helpful. I will let you know.
