Are you still having a problem with this?
Do you have a multi meter to test components?
Yes still having the problem. Would not be a mahor issue however I'm having some work done on the house and its badly in need of a hoover.
no im afraid i do not ahve a multi meter
was it working exactly as before, before it went dead on you?
yes, exactly as before
OK, its a very simple machine, so the first thing you should try, is tying a big knot in the cable about 18 inches from the end. Cut off the plug and 10 inches of the cable, refit a new plug and see if that does it. It is very common for the cable to break at either end
Without a meter there isnt really much more you can do
there is only a switch a small circuit board and the motor in there
To test any of these you do need a meter
