This answer was rated:

Mt Bosch classixx 1400 express drum has stopped turning. I have cleaned out the front drain and that hasn't made any difference. It will pump water in and out but just doesn't turn the drum. The drum is free to turn by hand and the belt is still on.

Hiya,

The most likely cause of this problem is the carbon brushes in the motor have worn out.

Unplug the appliance and take the rear cover off.

Check the wiring and the plug to the motor.

If ok, take the belt off.

Take the bolts holding the motor to the tub out.

Take the motor out and check the carbon brushes.

If stuck, free off and refit the motor.

If broken or worn out, replace them and refit the motor.

Reassemble the appliance and try it again.

Hope this helps

Let me know how it goes or if you need more help.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for your reply, have taken motor off and the brushes are about 15mm long, is that ok or should I replace them?

Thanks
Sarah x

Hiya,

Stretch the spring slightly and refit them.

Refit the motor, reassemble and try the machine.

If the motor turns, unplug it and obtain new brushes.

15mm is pretty short so I would think that the carbons are well worn.

Check it out, don't use the machine if it start to run. You could damage the electronics.

Good luck with it.

Thanks
