I have entered all the remote codes for my Sony tv and while it turns the TV off as if I have set it up properly it will fail to turn it on with either TV power or All power. What to do?

this should be simple- my old remote will work it fine. I do not wish to spend more on this new system since all the updated equipment should work at lease as the old!

What remote are you trying to program here? Is this for a cable or satellite remote? Which model? How many digits does your remote require (3,4, or 5)?

Comcast would not provide any help with remote programming, they don't support other manufacturers products.

Sony also would not help with this.
