Have Samsung UN55JU670D and had to have Comporium reboot the HD DVR --pictures fine, but no sound. Acts as if it's on mute, but it's not. Have done the list of things Samsung has on the website and did a sound check which came out fine. Still no sound.
JA: What's the model number of your TV? How old is it?
Customer: The UN 55 number above is the model number. Late 2015
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: Everything works great except sound
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: This morning there was a message to call cable co. Worked last nite
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?

How did your cable company (comporium ) reboot that cable box , from their office ?

That no good , try this ;

Pull the cable box`s power cord off the wall outlet (cable box only) for a minute.
In the mean time turn off the tv and turn it back on only after you plug back the cable box power cord.
Note that it may take a couple of minutes for the cable box to reboot after you plug it back ,just give it time.

If you still have no sound even though the sound check came out o.k then that cable box is defective

You could try something else like a dvd player , game etc.to verify that or simply connect the cable directly into the tv`s antenna terminal and set your tv to a channel , you should have sound there .
