An Optical cable is designed to connect the TV to external sound systems. So what do you have plugged into the other end of that Optical cable?

Are you having website issues preventing you from replying?

Well, if you need help- you don't want to use an Optical cable unless you're planning on sending the TV sound out to a soundbar or home theater system. If you're connecting it to say the cable box- then don't do that, simply use a single HDMI cable.
