JA: What's the make and model of your tv? Have you had any issues with the picture before?
Customer: Our TV is not showing the picture on any channel, we can hear it, just can't see it
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: I can't see the menu to use it:)
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I was watching TV, turned it off for a bit then turned it on and it was black, my husband had been trying to fix it for the last hour

Please be patient as we try a few things... try this:
-unplug the tv POWER cord from the wall outlet.
-press and hold the power button on the tv (not remote) for 20 seconds and release.
-plug in the tv power cord and turn on.

Is the screen still black?

If you press volume or menu on the original tv remote does anything show up?

If you press volume or menu on the tv itself (not remote) does anything show up?

I tried all that, the TV button won't turn volume up or down foe some reason but it does turn off the tv

Unfortunately there is not going to be any easy reset/fix. The tv needs diagnosis, parts, and service. I could help you with that but if you do not have the needed skills and tools then having it repaired by a local shop is your best option. I can help you with that too, just provide your zip code.
