Can you tell me the full model number of the tv?
If you go into the LG menu screen, is that screen dim also, or brighter?
Can you please pull up the menu now to check?
But the picture in the background is not, correct?What are you watching? Cable/satellite? Dvd? Apps? Does it happen equally on all of them?
Do you have anything else you can test, such as a dvd player?
Can you do so please, and tell me if you have the same problem on the dvd?

Thanks for checking. That usually indicates a cable box issue, can you please go unplug power to your ATT box for a few minutes, then replug power and give it a few more minutes to start back up, and let me know if that helps.
