When I try to use the Viera function, I get '401 - Unauthorized'
JA: What's the model number of your TV? How old is it?
Customer: I'm not sure of the exact model number but I know it's supposed to work. I can find the model if it's important.
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: The TV works fine. The network settings test comes out ok, too, but it still gives me the error code.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I'm trying to connect the TV to the internet for the first time.
JA: Anything else you want the tv expert to know before I connect you?

What is the model of the tv?
What specific app are you trying to access, and are any of them working?

It's a Panasonic TC-P42G. I'm trying to connect to the internet for the first time with it. All the networking tests pass okay but when I try to connect - not even to a specific app - I get '401 - Unauthorized'.

Okay try going into the network setup, and manually change the DNS setting to 8.8.8.8 and let me know if that helps.

Okay we will need to do a manual update on the tv as a next step, can you give me the full model number (there should be more after the G), and go into the settings menu and tell me what you see as the current firmware version?
