New remote that turns on DVD/VCR but connection to TV which is a
JA: What's the make and model of your television? And is the remote the same, universal, or for another device?
Customer: Supposed original equip and TV is Sansui which has work before with DVD/VCR.
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: No menu from DVD/VCR and all inputs.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Don't remember what started it and been messing with it for several weeks.
JA: Anything else you want the tv expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Can't think of any thing. Even tried different tv set with no luck.

Additionally, please describe how the DVD/VCR is connected to the TV using what kind of cable(s).

A/V cables. DVD/VCR DVP3345V and correct remote. Sansui SLED1953W.

Please confirm that the new remote is original that came with the Philips DVP3345V.

Would the Philips work as expected with the Sansui using the TV's side panel controls / buttons ?

Haven't tried side panel controls but doesn't the signal have to come from the remote to get a menu to appear?
