I have a WD-62827 DLP TV that is having an issue showing red

Customer Question

Hello - I have a WD-62827 DLP TV that is having an issue showing red horizontal lines that "roll" up the screen very quickly, but sometimes slowly. Only appears when image is bright white or grey. TV has new light engine. Do you think it is a bad color wheel? Color wheel sensor? Formatter board?

Jason, this is a sign that the color wheel is beginning to go bad.

If the problem persists then the color wheel will need to be replaced.

Hi, just checking in on your question, do you need any further assistance?

Pete - Since seeing your post, I purchased and replaced the color wheel, but the problem still exists. I am going to see if I can return it, but it may not be possible. Going to try the formatter board, or I might just get a new TV if I can't return the color wheel.

If you are still getting the rolling red horizontal lines after replacing the color wheel then a loose connection or faulty formatter board could also cause this effect.
