Hi,

I'm sorry about the issue. What's the model of your flat screen TV?

What's the model of your laptop?

Does your laptop have Windows XP, Vista, or 7 or 8 or 10?

Have you connected any cable from the laptop to the TV?

Please type at the box below, then click on the Send button below to communicate with me, so I can help. Thank you,

Thank you. Can you please check at the back / bottom of your Acer laptop for the model of it?

And can you please check the back of your Toshiba TV for the model of it?

Also, do you know if your Acer laptop and Toshiba TV have any of these ports: VGA (or PC), DVI, and/or HDMI?

Please reply at the box below. Thank you,

Thank you. I've checked the specifications your laptop; it has a VGA port, and your TV has an HDMI port. Please wait a bit for me to research on a solution. Thank you,

Thank you for waiting. You need these two devices, which are available at your local computer / electronics computer store, or online, like at the Amazon websites below:

1. A VGA to HDMI converter:

https://www.amazon.com/VicTsing-Output-1080P-Converter-Adapter/dp/B00K4W62R4/

2. An HDMI cable:

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-High-Speed-HDMI-Cable-Standard/dp/B014I8SSD0/

Do you have any further question and/or do you need anything else for now?

Please reply at the box below to continue. Thank you,

Here are the full steps:

1. Connect the VGA to HDMI converter to the laptop, and connect the HDMI cable from the converter to the TV.

2. Use the TV remote control in order to set the source / input menu of the TV to the appropriate HDMI port.

3. On the laptop's keyboard, press at the same time the two keys Fn and F5 in order to switch the display from laptop's screen to TV's screen.

- Or on the laptop, go to Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization / Display -> Adjust resolution, then there, adjust the Multiple displays option.
