Have TV Questions? Ask a TV Technician
Hi, my name is ***** ***** I will do my best to help you today. To make sure I don’t miss anything, please give me a minute to review your question.
- What video devices/ sources (such as cable box DVD player etc) are connected to TV and does the problem occur on all video input sources?Thank you.
Thanks for the info. I'm working on it, give me 5 minutes please.
Please grab Samsung TV remote and find a button labeled as P-Size, does the remote has that button?
Is it long Samsung remote and not the small smart remote, correct?
I just checked, even small Smart remote also has P-Size button.
Let me upload picture of remotes came with the TV and marked the P-Size button on each remote.
Please fins two attached picture files of remote and P-Size buttons are marked with red arrow.
You would need to press that button a few times to change picture size, does it work?
This is odd, do you have other remote?
I understand, since you get bigger picture while watching Directv and Bluray that means issue is with in TV. Give me 5 minutes to check further options.
Go to MENU > Picture > Picture Size > Picture Size.
Do you get different picture size options such as 16:9, Zoome1, Zoom2 etc?
Also, can you select those options to see if picture size changes accordingly?
Please take your time.
This is odd, have you tried unplug TV power cord from wall outlet for 10 minutes to reset, replug back in, turn the TV On and check picture size?
I understand and wish if I could do more assisting you over internet support.
Please reply back with the result.
Sorry to hear that, directv has nothing to do with this issue because TV gives bigger picture on all video sources so it is Samsung TV internal problem, most probably it is TV firmware/ internal software related issue and firmware update might help to fix it, if it doesn't work then you would need to replace main board of TV to get it fixed.
I hope these info will help. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask. If you're satisfied, please rate me a 5-star at the top of your page. Thank you.
Main board would cost around $100 and please add TV tech labor to get repair estimate.
Firmware update file is available at following Samsung link and wont cost any thing to try it..
I hope these info will help. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask.
OK, it is new info. I would recommend to try DVD/Bluray playback on both TVs to see if picture is bigger as well and reply back with the result.
