My TV ,PAN50PDP, TC50U50 failed to turn "on" just now. The

My TV ,PAN50PDP, TC50U50 failed to turn "on" just now. The "power on" indicator light
blinks "on" eight times and is "off" about 4 seconds and repeats. I tried disconnecting power for about a minute which when restored had no effect. The remote doesn't have any influence of the TV. Is there any hope or does it go to the alley? rpp

Have you tried unplugging for an extended period of time? ...say an hour or preferably more?

The idea is to simulate a soft RESET.

And then plug back in but use a different power source/outlet.

This would be the simplest to try as all others would be internal and would require the use of a multi-meter and even perhaps a soldering iron.

10-4 that is why I tried the 1 minute reboot. FYI, I do have pencil iron & FLUKE 87 VOM.

Good news/bad news: Good news- only cost $5 Bad news- no change! Not as bad as Toyota this afternoon nicked me for $57.04 for two wiper blades installed.
