Please check and get me the model number off of the back of the TV if you can, or at least the brand.
Additionally is this set just OVER or just UNDER one year from the date of purchase?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the set shutting itself off is not within normal operation of the set, and there are no settings/adjustments that will correct this. It indicates a premature fault occurring in the TV's Mainboard (which is the processor in the TV that provides the turn on/off commands in the set). Since the TV is less than one year old, this is covered under Vizio's warranty and you would need to contact them at the number below to have this repaired:

Other than that, I'm sorry for the bad news and wish there were a quick fix.
