My remote doesn't work, I've changed the batteries and I've checked that the button aren't stuck. It may have drop to the floor. What can be the problem?

Customer: Sorry, I didn't see your question, it's the 32" LED TV
and DVD combo, I bought it Dec 2015.
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: Well I can get the menu to come on screen but without the remote I can't change anything.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: About a week ago, I realize the remote wasn't working. I don't remember if there was a problem before.
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?
