Customer Question

I have no picture or sound. We just got back in town and I understand there was a lot of lightning while we were gone. The power strip it was plugged into was shut off, so I'm not sure if it was lightning or not.
JA: What's the model number of your TV? How old is it?
Customer: 42LN5700-UH. I think we purchased it in 2014
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: the only thing that comes on is the red light in the front
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: the tv has not been used since May. It is in a seasonal use condominium
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: not that I can think of

Hello

Welcome

Sorry you are having trouble here, you have by-passed the power-strip and gone directly to the wall with TV plug just to eliminate the strip?

no difference. the red light still goes on and off, but no message or other info on the screen, and no sound.
Expert:  Anthony_Infotech replied 2 months ago.

So the power-light is blinking red, that would mean likely the power or more likely the mainboard has took a hit maybe you did have a lightening strike?either way if you have rebooted the set and its still the same it is a hardware issue likely to be the main-board do you think you can replace this board yourself?

I will provide all the info to do that let me know.

If you are not comfortable doing that you will need a tech www.tvrepairpros.com will locate a tech in your area

Let meknow if you can do this or need more info.

A positive of rating of 3 to 5 stars is greatly appreciated thank you the site will then release credit to me thanks again, note question remains open for 30 days
