My Pioneer Elite (60") Plasma TV (purchased new in 2008)

Customer Question

My Pioneer Elite (60") Plasma TV (purchased new in 2008) will not stay powered on when I plug it into the wall socket it stays on for a minute then turns itself off and the blue light blinks 9 times. Any idea what this could be? Is it fixable? Thanks!
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Pioneer is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: Pro 151FD Purchased in 2008
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: I cannot get the remote to work, I've changed the batteries, but the lights still won't come on, so I don't know if the menu works because I cannot use the remote. Is there a way to check without the remote? And should I get a new remote?
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Its been like this for about 6 weeks, nothing happened that I recall. I keep it unplugged from the power just in case there is a problem with the power fluctuating coming from the outlet
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, just that I would love to have it working by this weekend! :-)

Hi , I`m Jack , I will be helping you today
Can you please send me a reply when you are ready to proceed ?
Note that I need time to type and research for parts and info if needed so don't be surprised if there are delays between replies

Are you quite sure about the 9 blinks ?

Could it be 8 blue blinks instead by any chance ?

Expert:  Jack replied 4 months ago.

Is it blinking blue or red ?
