cant program to get all the channels available
JA: What's the exact make and model of your television? And how long has this been happening with the channels?
Customer: Panasonic TH-37lru30
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Got it from a friend when we replaced the hotel televisions
JA: The TV expert can solve this for you. Anything else you want him to know before I connect you two?
Customer: I have it out of hotel mode, but when I select cable imput it will not allow me to auto program.

How did you get the tv out of hotel mode ?

press menu +g+y+0 to get into the admin menu - then turn it off - followed be pressing the power button on the television for10 sec. to reset the unit.

How do you mean it will not allow you to auto program , the selection is not there . it is grayed out , its asking for a password ***** ?

O.k then two things here , does that cable system have analog channels ( not encoded ) on it and is the tv in TV MODE (with a channel number on the screen) when you try that cable auto program ?

o.k and just for a test , if you try and select ANT in instead of cable , is the auto program function still grayed out ?

how about the MANUAL PROGRAM , is that grayed out as well ?

In ant. I can use auto program - it does not find any channels

THis might help in cable mode I get channel 2-1 and 2-2 only

No it does not ,you have cable but it is selectable , kinda odd here

You entered those manually with the digits on the remote or the up/down channel buttons ?

Have you tried the manual program ?

If you enter channel 12 (1 and 2) , does it go there ?

If you get those by using the channel up/down buttons then it looks like you don`t need a channel scan /search and those 2 channels would be the only ones available with out a decoder .

Are those channels the publicity channels from the cable company praising the benefits of a cable box ?

For example if you go through the channels manually and note them then go in the manual program and add those you get then with the channels up/down buttons it will go through those only

Manual program is blacked out in cable mode - we are connected to a university dorm cctv system that does not require a box,.When I enter one it goes to channel one without a broadcast selecting 2 takes me to 2-1

It is odd that the television is picking up the correct channel labels for those two channels

Out of idea on this beside getting yourself an external tuner /converter
