Are you using the HDMI ARC connection on the tv?
Okay that is the root of the issue - you can switch it to a different input, or you can go into both the tv and denon settings menus, and disable the HDMI CEC (power/control) functions.
If you have a smart tv, and are using apps (like netflix) on it, you want to keep the arc input in place and just change those settings instead. It will still let you send audio back to the denon that way, you just have to manually set the denon to the TV input mode to do so.
