In order to solve this, I need more information:
1) What is the model number off of the back of the TV (starts with LC)?
2) What is connected to the set (cable/SAT box, DVD, Home Theater, etc.)?
3) Does the screen go black with ALL sources you view from (cable, DVD, etc.)?
4) WHEN the screen goes black, if you grab the original Sharp remote and press MENU, will the MENU display?

Elaborate on "Cable"- Cable "Box", or direct coaxial cable from wall to TV.
I didn't asked anything about "the other remote", not sure what you're saying, but we really need specifics to solve this. Also, I need to know how OFTEN it goes black, and how long does it stay black?
Please give me a detailed description of the screen going black- in other words, how often and when does this occur, how long does it stay black, is there still sound when the screen goes black, etc.?
