We just got a Samsung Smart TV Series 5, 5200 50 inch and we are trying to hook it up to our cable. The cable box works connected to the TV with a coaxial cable, but it doesn't work with an HDMI cable. we have bought a brand new HDMI cable still with no luck. It says there is no signal. Any suggestions?

You are on the correct input for HDMI?so that sometimes means that you may need to switch it to HDMI with the TV remote, there will be an INPUT or SOURCE button that you need to continually press so the HDMI comes through, the button may also be a dedicated HDMI button or it may be termed EXT or AV

OK so the set is in HDMI mode no signal,OK we now need to verify if its the box or the TV that is the problem so do you have anything else that is HDMI to try?just to verify if the TV is good?
