Cable box,satellite,dvd,games etc. ?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
It is connected to cable I have used the sharp remote to reset settings no luck my other tvs have great volume set around 12
Expert:  Jack replied 6 months ago.

When you say cable , is there a converter as well ?

Do you have a cable company remote ?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Jack this is not our prime residence so the 4 years we have had this unit is not on like our main residence lif
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No converter cable remote is used not the cable
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
It was working just fine
Expert:  Jack replied 6 months ago.

So the tv is connected directly to cable and no cable box/converter with its own remote

The only remote used to change channels is the tv`s own remote , is that correct ?

Sorry but your last statement is confusing

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Last time we used the tv 2weeks ago the volume was good I have read online that the aquos has volume issues with the inside speakers
Expert:  Jack replied 6 months ago.

Yes those sharp do have problems and its audio circuit is one of them .

Reason for asking about a cable box is that its audio out could be used for a sound bar for example ,which would be cheaper than a $250 repair on the tv

Expert:  Jack replied 6 months ago.

The TV's optical audio out should be fine though and could also be used .

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
How do I check that
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No that's ok I feel I have done everything thanks jack
Expert:  Jack replied 6 months ago.

check what ?

The optical out ?

You can`t really tell if there is sound but with an optical cable and plug it into the tv then at the other end if you see a red light then it is active.
