Just moved into home, purchased tv, installed has at&t uverse cable connected just cant get the volume. Ive changed the channels etc but no volume

Have you checked the menu settings to make sure the TV speakers are on?

This one is the 55" in my den, and i have the same tv 48" in bedroom, no issues with that one.
I get picture just no volume

The reason I ask, is it looks like Vizio wants you to use the SmartCast app from your phone as your primary remote? Try that to see if you can access the volume controls and let me know.
